The Copper Development Association USA [CDA] has put out the following statement regarding copper and the Coronavirus.

Media reports and public inquiries to CDA have noted several independent studies reporting antimicrobial efficacy of uncoated copper and copper alloy surfaces against human pathogens, including one strain of coronavirus (HuCoV-229E) reported in mBio by Warnes et al (citation: https://doi.org/10.1128/mBio.01697-15).

There also has been widespread media coverage of a recent U.S. government-funded study conducted by researchers at the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting that the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the disease COVID-19, remained viable for up to 2 to 3 days on plastic and stainless steel surfaces vs. up to 4 hours on copper (citation: https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMc2004973).

Considering the limited evidence against SARS-CoV-2 referenced above, further testing would be required to assess the effectiveness of copper surfaces.

Does nicotine prevent coronavirus?

Smokers are likely to be more vulnerable to COVID-19 as the act of smoking means that fingers (and possibly contaminated cigarettes) are in contact with lips which increases the possibility of transmission of the virus from hand to mouth. Smokers may also already have lung disease or reduced lung capacity which would greatly increase the risk of serious illness. There has been some recent interest in studying if nicotine could influence whether or not the coronavirus molecules are able to attach themselves to the receptors in the body. However, it is strongly advised not to jump to any hasty conclusions, considering the harms which are associated with nicotine. Nicotine is a drug of abuse responsible for smoking addiction. Smoking has severe pathological consequences and remains a serious danger for health.

Does Resveratrol help in treating COVID-19 infection?

Resveratrol is a chemical found in red wine, red grape skins, purple grape juice, mulberries, and in smaller amounts in peanuts. The antiviral effects of RSV have been demonstrated in a number of pathogenic human and animal viruses. It had the ability to inhibit viral protein production and gene expression at various levels. However, there is no evidence that Resveratrol helps in curbing the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID -19.

Do Quinine water and zinc help in preventing COVID 19?

There have been widespread reports that zinc and quinine found in Tonic water can prevent or treat COVID19.
It is a fact that both hydroxychloroquine and quinine are being studied for efficacy in COVID-19. However tonic water, containing a non-therapeutic minimal quantity of quinine will have no effect on COVID -19.
Zinc is needed for the maintenance of the immune cells system. Zinc deficiency results in dysfunction of both humoral and cell‐mediated immunity. However, we don’t know the specific effect of zinc on COVID-19 and it is not advisable to overdose on any supplement or take it without doctor’s advice.

Do Schweppes tonic water and zinc help in treating coronavirus?

There is no evidence that tonic water and zinc would help fight coronavirus. The most important steps you can take now to protect yourself from COVID -19 infection is to practice hand hygiene and carry out social distancing.

How much zinc should I take for coronavirus?

There have been some studies that say that zinc did have a mild effect in shortening duration of the common cold.  But there’s no conclusive information about zinc and this particular Coronavirus.

Supplementing with zinc might help protect against respiratory tract infections and also reduce the duration of these infections. The daily dose is about 40-mg of elemental zinc.

However, there is no hard evidence to support an argument that zinc can protect against, prevent and/or treat of Coronavirus. More evidence is required before we can count on zinc as a means of COVID-19 prevention or protection. We do not recommend self-medication with any drugs, including antibiotics, as a prevention or cure for COVID-19.

Is Dettol capable to fight with coronavirus?

You can do routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces (for example,  tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks, and electronics ) with alcohol-based sanitizers or diluted bleach solution.
